16 Budget (Operating) Increased allocation to Program Leaders Increased county travel Base budget allocation to departments Dept call for proposals for training and other development resources for agents and non-agent client groups.

17 Budget Advocacy University 10% cut Academic offset by tuition increases so real cut is 3% or 6% Agricultural program lines at NC State will be assessed full 10% –Cooperative Extension Service –NC Agricultural Research Service Need to position for less (3 – 6%)

18 Advocacy Election will change political picture –Senate high probability to go Republican Loss of key supporters –House could also go Republican but race is tighter Who to target? Key Targets –Educational appropriations (House and Senate).
