Our skill was cause and effect. Next week we will finish Island of the Blue Dolphins and learn about theme. Math: This week we worked with chapter 1. Some classes took the mid chapter checkpoint. Next week we will continue with chapter 1 multiplication, and order of operations. Social Studies: This week we learned about how the Siberians crossed into the Americas on the land bridge. We even reenacted this. Next week we take our chapter 2 test and start chapter 3 about Native American culture. Language Arts: This week we used the Paw Claw to write 3.8 paragraphs. Next week we will write our own. Science: In science we used a jigsaw to learn vocabulary words for the properties of matter. Each group had a word and then taught it to the class. We used this organizer to explain all of the words. Next week we will conduct experiments to test these properties. Reading: This week we finished reading Thunder Rose.
