In the home… n Take 5 minute showers n Fill the tub only half way n Water the lawn early in the morning or late in the afternoon n Scrub vegetables in a basin of water, not under running water n Turn off the facet while you brush your teeth n Only wash FULL loads of laundry

POINT SOURCE A specific source of pollution that can be identified example- a leaking pipe from a chemical company

NONPOINT SOURCE A widely spread source of pollution that can’t be tied to a specific point of origin example - runoff from a farm, street, or construction site or chemicals or sewage from far away
