Legislative Year Results 4 out of 9 bills we supported have made it to the Governor’s desk One of them is the bill we sponsored for the Alameda County pilot! Additionally: AB 47 states intent to fund preschool for all eligible children (funding was removed during process) AB 762 expands the age range of the child care optional toddler component

Additional Bills of Interest SB 548 (De Leon) requires family child care to have four hours of training provided by unions on health and safety topics SB 792 (Mendoza) Immunization-This bill prohibits, commencing September 1, 2016, a person from being employed or volunteering at a day care center or a day care home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. AB 74 would require annual site visits

Additional Bills Of Interest AB 982: This bill would expand the list of entities that can identify a child in need (for CDE programs) to include a local educational agency liaison for homeless children and youths, a Head Start program, or a transitional shelter. The bill would expand the list of children to be identified to include a homeless child.

Local Updates Oakland received a grant from the Hellman Foundation to focus on two child development center sites with high African American boy enrollment to connect with early identification (Help Me Grow),, and ______________
