6. (32.) Commutative Property** Definition: a + b = b + a  ADDITION a(b) = b(a)  MULTIPLICATION NOTE:In this property the numbers are changing (commuting) position. Example: 5 + 6 = 6 + 5 = 11 6(5) = 5(6) = 30 3xy + 5x + 4xy = 3xy + 4xy + 5x = 7xy + 5x
