Medieval Theater Presented by : Tomas Bermudez, Nikita Holbert, Van Burgess, and Matt Porter.

Introduction.. Time Period: 900 A.D.- 1500 A.D. Actors: All were male, but female characters were suggested with a handkerchief on the character's head.

Playwrights and Plays Famous playwrights: Hrotsvitha, Hildegard of Binged, The Wakefield Master, John Bale, Adam de la Halle. Famous Plays: Castle of Perseverance (c.1425) Everyman (c.1500) Mankind (c.1470)

Most plays contained Christian biblical themes such as: The life of the virgin, the life and passion of Christ, Christ's Harrowing of Hell, Christ's resurrection and appearances to his disciples and to the two Marys, and Christ’s ascension. Themes of Plays
