1 in 3 people with a learning disability have a sight problem. Many people may be living with sight problems that have been undiagnosed or unnoticed by those who support them. 
SeeAbility’s Functional Vision Assessment pack has been designed to be undertaken by carers and support staff.
It is an excellent starting point for recognising sight problems and for accessing specialist support and eye care services for people with learning disabilities and profound and multiple disabilities.

Who should attend?
Managers and support staff who work with people who have learning disabilities, including those with profound and muiltiple learning disabilities. Learning disability professionals including health facilitators.
Learning outcomes:
Understand the need for and the importance of functional vision assessments
Be able to undertake a basic functional vision assessment
Be able to consider a range of effective strategies to assist people who may have eye sight problems
Be able to ensure that people with learning disabilities and profound and multiple learning disabilities can access appropriate eye care services
