2 What are the Presidents’ Awards?

3 The Rules ▪Open to all Presidents ▪No more than one page of documentation submitted for each strategy. ▪Page totals do not include your entry form, annual report, or tracking document.

4 ▪Gold Award – Completion of 13 or more strategies. Entry may be 13-23 total pages. ▪Silver Award – Completion of 10-12 strategies. Entry may be 10-12 total pages. ▪Bronze Award – Completion of 7-9 strategies. Entry may be 7-9 total pages. Levels

5 2014-2015 Initiatives

6 Initiative #1: Education and Professional Development Strategy #1: Have a local certification meeting or group study session Strategy #2: Promote Keys to Excellence at the Region Seminar Strategy #3: Have your district apply for at least 3 awards and/or scholarships (this includes the President’s Award) Strategy #4: Promote SNA Conferences, Training, and Webinar Wednesdays Strategy #5: Collaborate with State Agency to provide educational sessions at Region Seminar

7 Initiative #2: Advocacy and Public Image Strategy #1: Promote SNA National Resources on Grassroots Advocacy Strategy #2: Send your Food Service Director and/or at least one local officer and/or member to the Legislative Action Caucus in Tallahassee Strategy #3: Visit a legislator in their local district office Strategy #4: Invite a local representative to visit during Florida Breakfast Week, National School Lunch Week, or National School Breakfast Week Strategy #5: Invite your State Representatives to the Annual Conference Strategy #6: Use SNA Marketing Resources and Campaigns to promote members and their programs

8 Initiative #3: Community Strategy #1: Increase local, state, and/or national and school district-owned membership (SDM) by 5% Strategy #2: Sign up your Food Service Director and/or Administrator as a member of national, state, and local Strategy #3: Encourage all members, administrators, co- workers, and the community to embrace change by coming together in unison, building a stronger bond Strategy #4: Make one of your meetings a themed recruiting party and invite potential new members by using the SNA Membership Toolbox Strategy #5: Promote SNA’s revamped Star Club program and membership drives Strategy #6: Encourage participation in SNA’s Future Leaders Programs – submit three (3) ‘Looking for Leaders’ forms

9 Initiative #4: Infrastructure Strategy #1: Review and update bylaws if necessary Strategy #2: Review and design orientation for board and committees Strategy #3: Reduce time commitment and task forces Strategy #4: Establish mega issue discussions at board meetings Strategy #5: Reduce time commitment of volunteers
