Project Objectives #Objective TitleObjective Description 1Define information sharing standards Define information sharing standards that facilitate economic (standard, scalable, and reusable) data exchange between ITS and public safety systems. Project is focused on ITS standards that utilize the IEEE 1512 family of standards and justice systems that utilize the GJXDM. 2Create information exchange methods Create and disseminate information exchange methods upon which industry and agencies in the transportation and public safety domains can base their implementation of information exchanges. Such will minimally include creation of GJXDM Information Exchange Packages (IEP). 3Validate information exchange methods Validate the information exchange methods (end-to-end up to IEP and corresponding transportation package) through laboratory and field testing 4Provide technical assistanceProvide specific technical assistance on-site to a minimum of five agencies engaged in adopting the model 5Support knowledge management help desk Support a knowledge management based help desk to answer questions related to implementation of the information exchange method, IEPs, and corresponding transportation package in specific jurisdictions

Minimize traffic tie-ups in conjunction with special events. Reduce congestion and delay by regular re-timing of traffic signals. Provide timely and accurate information to travelers.
