2 Delivering independent intelligence for health and wellbeing Monthly NDTMS Data Cycle Treatment service explains purpose and confidential treatment of NDTMS data (*see later session) Treatment service gets informed consent Enter treatment details on NDTMS compliant system e.g. Data Entry Tool Extract NDTMS data and upload it to the Drug and Alcohol Management System

3 Delivering independent intelligence for health and wellbeing Monthly NDTMS Data Cycle Check that there are no FATAL, ERROR or WARN messages for the data file Treatment services fix any data quality issues and upload a new data extract Submit data once 100% data quality is achieved on DAMS by 7 th of each month Regional NDTMS Centre loads data into DAMS and hands over to NTA ~ 14 th

4 Delivering independent intelligence for health and wellbeing Monthly NDTMS Data Cycle Regional NDTMS Centre produces and distributes supplementary data quality reports ~20th Treatment services address issues shown in supplementary data quality reports ~ following month Subsequent performance data reporting

6 Delivering independent intelligence for health and wellbeing Monthly NDTMS Data Cycle – How to Help! Things to plan to ease NDTMS processes:- Administrative support – NDTMS Champion? NDTMS aware key workers – NDTMS Champion? NDTMS compatible data system Installation of AxCrypt software on PCs or  Use Drop Box facility Dedicated time to enter NDTMS data and to address any data quality issues especially during days 1 – 7 of each month
