2 What is CriMNet? CriMNet is a collaboration of people, processes, and standards focused on enabling the exchange of accurate and comprehensive information to criminal justice agencies throughout Minnesota. **Note: CriMNet is NOT just a system that stores data or a repository of information.

3 Brief Background Minnesota’s integration efforts began in the early 1990’s. The CriMNet Program Office was created in 2001 by state statute. The governance structure was also created in 2001 by state statute to coordinate and oversee the Program.

4 CriMNet Governance 1.Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information Policy Group (Policy Group): - Four commissioners from the executive branch - Four members appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court - Sets the overall policy and strategic direction of the Program

5 CriMNet Governance 2. Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information Task Force (Task Force): - 37 members representing all disciplines within the criminal justice system, city and county municipalities, the legislature, state agencies and the public (currently includes the 8 members of the Policy Group). - Monitors, reviews and reports to the Policy Group on CriMNet-related projects and provides oversight to ongoing operations of the Program.
