7. Elements of a Narrative/Story Be sure to think about the PLOT MAP structure. EXPOSITION – establish the background information, characters, setting, conflict… RISING ACTION – build the tension/suspense of your story by having a few small events that build to the CLIMAX of your story CLIMAX – show how the conflict ends RESOLUTION – wrap-up the loose ends of your story, show the reader how things ended for the characters
