29. Digital Communication in the 21 st Century Prerequisite –Mastery and proficiency of knowledge and skills in keyboarding, computer skills and word processing. Prepares student for the societal demands of increased civic literacy, independent working environments, global awareness and the mastery of a base set of analysis and communication skills Combines computer skills of electronic design, editing, and production of a product that requires demonstrations using multimedia tools. Gateway to Technology I Collaborative project-based class Use of design software to design and create virtual images of playground and furniture Study history and influence of automation and robotics Study of mechanical systems, energy transfer, machines and computer control systems Build and program real-world objects that may include traffic lights, toll booths and robotic arms. Fee associated with this HS elective course

40. Gateway to Technology II Hands-on exploration of electricity, the behavior and parts of atoms, and sensing devices. Students examine the impact of electricity and develop knowledge and skills in basic circuitry design. Fee associated with this HS elective course
