Review: Rules of Nomenclature Zoological and Botanical Names must be diverse. No Plant or animal of a different species can have the same name. The Genus name must be a single word beginning with a capital letter specifically describing a group of animal. The species name must be a single or compound word with the letters being in lower case. Ex. sapiens

Two Views used to Describe Animal Diversity Anatomical views consist of classifying animals by the way they look. – (Confusing and not always correct) Embryolical views consist of classifying animals based on their DNA. – (Much more accurate)

Platyhelminthes Consist of Parasites including Flukes Planarians and Tapeworms. Three Classes Total Tubellaria Trematoda Cestoda

Classes Turbellaria- includes planarians and most flatworms.

Classes Trematoda- Flukes and common parasites Includes two subclasses Monogenea- Parasitic to fish. digenea- Not parasitic to fish.

classes Cestoda- This includes tapeworms. Have a Scolex for a head.
