Slime time: when the Pacific Hagfish is threatened it releases a protein from its skin that mixes with the water making it a big slimy mass. Feeling unloved: the Hagfish lays its eggs and leaves them to fend for themselves. Common name: Pacific Hagfish Scientific name: Eptatretus stoutii

Being grey on the top and white on the bottom makes it very hard for its prey to spot it from a lateral perspective. Big boys got to eat: In one bite the Great White Shark can eat up to 31 lbs.
