What is the CLE? The CLE is a web-based application that enables instructors to create online courses. You can create a course page that holds materials and facilitates interactions with students. Very much like a real world class except its online.

Why use the CLE? Communicate and share information with your students. Collaborate with forums, wikis, chats, and much more. Easy to use -you only need basic web browsing skills. Supported by the Learning Technologies Group

Terminology Roles-Instructor, Student, Participant, Grading Assistant, Content Assistant, Guest Activities-An "activity" is an item of interactive content created using one of the many Moodle tools (e.g. assignment, chat session). Resources- A "resource" is any type of non-interactive digital content that you add to your course. The types of resources available are: Book, File Folder, Label, Page, URL Blocks-Display on the left and right side of the page

Getting Started! You will need a couple of things in order to start using the CLE: Contact the learning technologies group to request and create a new course Log on with your MyAccess login and password at https://courses.ucsf.eduhttps://courses.ucsf.edu 1 2
