2. By the end of the workshop you will be able to:  To create a project  To create a translation memory  To export a file for external review and update it from external review  To translate a single document  To add different translation memories( machine translation as an example)

4. Click here to start a new a project

5. You can click home then new project

7. Click here ad then click on next

8. In order to use a past project click on create a project based on previous project

9. Name the project Click allow source editing button then click next

10. Choose a source language and a target language Click next choosing Iraqi Arabic or Saudi Arabic does not make any difference.

11. Click on add files and add the file called healthy lifestyle Once you click add files choose a.document for translation. Locate the file and click open

12. You add as many translation memories as you for example Google or SDL automated translation

13. Click on create and choose new file based memory Can you tell the difference between new file based and new server based memories?

14. Once complete click next

15. Click on next

16. Click on finish

17. Click on close to complete the creation of the Translation Memory

18. You can click add to add a term base using Excel or termbases or term manager Trados will not allow us to update term bases unless we buy Trados multi term 2014

19. Click on next

22. Click on finish

24. To open the project double click on the project

25. Again double click on the file

26. Click confirm once you are done with translating each segment

27. You can the segment setting

28. If you lock a segment you will not be able to edit it anymore.

29. You can split the segment by using this command

31. Click export for an external review

32. Click next

33. It is not important to open the folder but you have to do it in order to remember the location

34. So here is the file

35. After editing your document you can update it from external review but you have to remember the location

36. Click save as

37. Save as a word document + Encoding Arabic

39. Click the translate single document command

40. You can add as many translation memory as you can. You can add Google translate or SDL automated translated

41. Click next

42. Do not change any default Click next

43. Click close to finalize your new translation memory

44. Click OK

45. Here you can see formats that Trados can deal with. For PDF the result is far from satisfying

47. Here you can preview the document

48. Here you can add a term base using Excel, termflow or term manager Add it then click OK

49. You can use these buttons to copy segments from source to target

50. Here you can check the quality of your translation Click review then quality assurance

51. You can use lookup translation to search in your translation memories

52. Now you can save the file as (then choose whatever format you want)
