Be realistic Never bring work home. Do not over schedule yourself. Do not be a closet competitor. Learn to assign or divide duties. Be specific about the type of work you like. Communicate and be a patient listener. “ME” time. De-stress before you reach home.

THE WORKING MOTHER I feel like I am always working. I am always trying to be the perfect mother. Saying ‘no’ is the hardest thing. Co-ordinating everyone’s time schedules drives me crazy. My husband thinks holiday means watching TV. I don’t think I exist for the world. I feel unappreciated by my family. I frequently forget what work I started. I think other people’s opinions are more valid than mine.

Parent yourself. Prioritize. Praise yourself. Separate your past from your present. Accept yourself as a package deal. Break the habit of living life laced with guilt. Learn to say “NO”. Give yourself the freedom to change your mind. Become your own permission giver. Reduce anticipatory anxiety.
