2 WHAT DOES IT MEAN?  RAM: random access memory  ROM: read only memory

3 WHAT TYPE OF MEMORY IS ROM?  ROM is memory that cannot be changed by a program or user. ROM retains its memory even after the computer is switched off.

4 WHAT TYPE OF MEMORY IS RAM?  RAM is a fast temporary type of memory in which application and data is stored.

5 DO THEY DIFFER?  Yes one stores memory and one forgets it when it turns off.

6 WHAT IS VOLATILE MEMORY?  Volatile memory is computer storage that only maintains its data while the device is powered.
