ORAL READING FLUENCY Oral Reading (OR): – Oral Reading Fluency Measurement is a standardized measure of oral reading ability. 1. Grades 1-8 2. Individual assessment 3. Paper and pencil (recommend a digital timer) 4. 1 minute per probe 5. 3 independent passages 5. Scored by taking the median of the three passages 6. R-MAZE Reading Maze (R-Maze): – Reading Maze is a multiple choice cloze procedure that students complete while reading silently. 1. Grades 1-8 silent multiple choice 2.
