Present perfect vs simple past
2
Present perfect: When do we use it? To talk about experiences Have you ever fallen down the stairs? To talk about actions that started in the past and continue in the present I’ve lived in Constantina for three years. To talk about recently finished actions I’ve just finished the exercise on present perfect. To talk about a past action that has a present result I’ve broken my leg.
3
Simple past: When do we use it? To talk about actions that happenend in the past and that are finished. This action could be a single action or an action that happened during a period. IT DOESN’T MATTER. THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT THE ACTION IS FINISHED: I woke up at 7:00 o’clock (single action) I lived in Córdoba for five years (period of time)
