North: – Factories/machines – Manufacturing – Assembly lines – Mass Production

Occupation South: – Plantations – Cash Crops (Cotton, Tobacco, Rice, Indigo. – Labor intensive work due to hand tools, and/or animal power. – Slavery.

Ethnicity of People North: – White factory owners (capitalist). – Ireland(Irish), Germany, England – 1 st Wave of immigrants. – Italy (Italians), Russia, Greece – 2 nd Wave of immigrants.

South: – Religious Baptist, Episcopalian, Presbyterian and Methodist. – Dialect – Cuisine “Soul Food” – Drink Cold drinks (Iced tea) – Music Country, Jazz, Rhythm and Blues

“Union and the Confederacy” “Union” – States that stayed and was loyal to the United States of America. “Confederacy” – States that seceded (left) the Union to create a separate nation.
