2 QUICK REVIEW: Match the following words with the correct definition. ______1. a chain of islands. Examples include Japan, Hawaii, Indonesia, Philippines ______2. a land area having a level surface that is raised above the surrounding land. ______3. 7 large landmasses of planet Earth. They are Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Australia, and Antarctica. ______4. a piece of land that is surrounded by water on all 4 sides. Examples include Taiwan, Iceland, Great Britain, Long Island ______5. a region that is very dry because of little rainfall. It supports very little vegetation or no vegetation at all. ______6. an area of land that is surrounded by water on 3 sides. Some examples include India, Korea, Florida, Italy ______7. A large natural stream of water emptying into an ocean, lake, or other body of water. ______8. A large body of salt water that covers almost 3/4s of the earth's surface. There are 4 oceans on planet Earth: Atlantic, Pacific, Indian & Arctic Oceans.
