STARTING LIFE I was born Minnie Lee Jones in Schaal,Arkansas on August 13,1933. Later I change my name to Joycelyn Elders. Now I’m 70 years old.

FUTURE The accomplishments I’ve made a difference to our society by tiring to improve health and sex education. Also being the first black resident,chief resident,and professor affects the future by encouraging women that they could better than men.

CONTRIBUTION My contribution was speaking out in favor of health education and sex education. This was all happing when I was working for Bill Clinton when he was Governor of Arkansas and President.

AWARD In my whole career I have received a National Institutes of Health Career Development Award.
