2 Mythology  Pisces means “fish” (plural) in Latin  It is one of the earliest zodiac signs  In Greek Mythology, Pisces represents the fish that Aphrodite and Eros were turned into in order to escape the monster Typhon.  Roots in Syria, as Atargatis  The Syrian goddess of love and fertility

3 Pisces Constellation  There are 18 main stars that make up the constellation  The brightest is Eta Piscium  The second brightest is Gamma Piscium  Pisces is the 12th sign in the Zodiac and represents those born between February 20th and March 20th in traditional astrology.  The vernal equinox is currently partly in Pisces

4 Bright Star Names and Types  Eta Piscium, or Kullat Nunu, is the brightest star, with a magnitude of 3.62, and classification of a yellow giant  Gamma Piscium, another yellow giant, is the second brightest star with a magnitude of 3.699  Omega Piscium is a yellow-white subgiant with a magnitude of 4.036
