LIVING LIFE TO THE FULL Angelo Joseph

Who Am I Diagnosed with kidney disease at the age of 25. 6 months later started haemodialysis which I continued for a little over 2 years. I had a transplant in April this year from a paired donor exchange.

Why am I here?

Do something positive: Random Acts Of Kidney Started fundraising group in Summer 2013 to raise money for Kidney Research UK. To date have raised over £7,000. Gave me something positive to focus on. Helped my friends and family to understand. www.randomactsofkidney.co.uk

Remember you need a break: Holidays

Istanbul Five day visit to Istanbul. First time having dialysis abroad. Found www.globaldialysis.com very useful for locating dialysis centres. Talked to local holiday co-ordinator to arrange trip but be prepared to organise your own dialysis sessions.

Try to live as normally as possible: Port Elliot Festival

Get Involved: Charity Events Great way to meet lots of people in the same boat. Lots of similar activities around the country. NKF Thames Bridges Trek

Live your life for now: Wedding & Honeymoon

Share: Friends & Family Talk to friends and family. Remember they are going through this too. Ensure you spend time with the people that matter.

My tips for living life to the full on dialysis Do something positive Remember you need a holiday too! Probably more than most! Try to live as normally as possible. Make dialysis work around you (safely). Get involved Live for now – you can’t see into the future so why wait. Share with your friends and family.
