AFL Victoria is the state-level sport governing body for Australian rules football in Victoria The AFL collaborates with AFL Victoria based on a philosophy of ‘common objectives, local solutions’ AFL Victoria’s mission is to ensure Aussie Rules is the most played, attended and supported sport across Victoria, providing enjoyment and well being within an inclusive environment Under AFL Victoria jurisdiction falls 115 leagues – including the Victorian Football league, the TAC Cup, and all the Victorian metropolitan and country leagues The same number of people attend Victorian community football each week as a round of AFL matches The Victorian Football League, evolved from the former Victorian Football Association, is the premier league in Victoria and has been running since 1877 AFL Victoria
