Holiday Traditions Put a tall, thick candle on the largest window on Christmas Eve. Men and women dress up they go to house to house carrying a long pole. Children leave a sock on the tree for Santa to put presents in on Christmas Eve. The ring of Holly started in Ireland when Holly was one of the main plants.
