Predict what might happen from details stated and implied. Summarise key ideas from a paragraph. Writing Use a wide range of devices to build cohesion across paragraphs. Ensure the consistent and correct tense throughout a piece of work. Describe settings, characters and atmosphere in integrating dialogue to convey the character and advance the action. Proof read for spelling and punctuation errors. Grammar and Punctuation Use commas to clarify meaning and avoid ambiguity. Use modal verbs or adverbs to indicate degrees of possibility. RE How can Brahman be everywhere and in everything? Maths Be sure in times tables up to 12 x 12. Identify, name and write equivalent fractions of a given number. Recognise mixed and improper fractions and convert from one form to another. Add and subtract fractions with the same denominator and denominators of the same multiple. Recognise and use thousandths and relate them to tenths, hundredths and decimal equivalents. Convert between different units of metric measurement. Complete, read and interpret information in tables, including timetables. Geography To name and locate counties and cities of the United Kingdom, geographical regions and their identifying human and physical characteristics, key topographical features (including hills and mountains, Compare mountains within a region of North America. Link to Geography topic of mountains (a story set on a mountain). Explanations – How to climb a mountain. Numeracy Order and compare fractions with different denominators. Name equivalent fractions and solve problems based on fraction criteria. Convert between mixed and improper fractions and explain own understanding. Place value of fractions – order and compare. Begin to convert between fractions and decimals. Read and interpret tables, compare shopping lists and create tables. Science Create a timeline of human growth and development. Explain how a baby develops in the uterus. Explain what happens in old age. Compare different developments through narratives. RE Think about what makes ourselves individuals and why we are important. Look at the different Gods in Hinduism and what they represent. Evaluate how Hindu children are taught. Tell the story of a God. Geography Find mountain ranges in different continents. Describe the different features. Create a 3D model of a mountain – write instructions on how it was made. Explain how mountains are formed and how tourism affects mountain regions. PE Swimming lessons every Thursday. Create an independent routine using controlled movements, also include apparatus. Art/DT. Discuss what the term Fairtrade means and compare Fairtrade products. Plan a meal using only Fairtrade products and how it can be eaten as part of a healthy diet. Compose a piece of music and write abbreviations for peers to read and interpret.. Computing Create an excel spreadsheet and use programming to find totals and difference in cost.
