2 Write Your Own Vignette Just like Hemingway, this assignment is to write with the iceberg theory in mind – give a little bit of information, but let the reader fill in the rest. In addition, you’re going to write a vignette – a verbal sketch that is a short scene that focuses on one moment or gives a strong impression about a character, idea, or setting.

3 Directions 1) Look at the photograph being displayed and think about what is happening. 2) Write a short vignette – a sketch of what is happening in the photograph. 3) Your vignette must be from 100 words to 300 words.

9 Choose a photo to base your vignette on and begin the first draft of your vignette. The photos will be left up on the screen for you to look at while you write.
