1 Welcome to Oslo and BI!

2 Residence permit For students from the EU/EEA countries: make a preliminary registration online at: selfservice.udi.no please bring the following documents to the MSc administration at the latest August 21, kl 15: 1. a copy of your EU identity card. 2.private health insurance or European health insurance card (valid for the whole period of your study programme.) 3.Personal declaration (provided at SSS) stating that you have sufficient funds/finances to support yourself. Pick up a form before you stand in line and fill it out. Please bring the documents to SSS in U1. Copies for free at SSS.

3 Residence permit cont. For students holding a non EU/EEA citizenship: An appointment with the police must be booked to activate your residence permit. Online applications: book appointment online https://selfservice.udi.no/https://selfservice.udi.no/ Paper application: book appointment by phone: 2234 2100 The following documents must be submitted to the Police: –Admission contract –Passport (Entry visa if applicable) –Scholarship contract (if applicable) 7 day deadline not applicable for students in Oslo. 4 How to apply for your personal number Once you receive your residence permit you must register your “Notification of move to Norway from abroad” (http://www.skatteetaten.no/en/Forms/Notification- of-move-to-Norway-from-abroad1/)http://www.skatteetaten.no/en/Forms/Notification- of-move-to-Norway-from-abroad1/ Fill out the form provided by the Norwegian Tax Administration The form must be submitted at Skatt Øst, no need for an appointment Schweigaards gate 17, 0191 Oslo

5 Norwegian Personal Number Needed for all health services, To open a bank account (don’t try to open one without your personal number) To apply for a tax card This number must be updated in our system as soon as you receive it You must bring your bank card or a confirmation from the tax office (Skatt Øst) personally to C3 We will make a certified copy for you

6 Health and Insurance Students staying in Norway for more than 12 months are automatically part of the Norwegian Insurance Scheme. EU/EEA students: covered through the National Insurance Scheme in your home country. General Practitioner – please read page 9 of your International Survival Guide

7 Finances Deposit: available from 12:00-13:00, Monday thru Thursday Contact person: Mona Olavessen Contact student assistants in C3 (please bring ID) Cash retrieval: maximum 2000 NOK Invoice payment possible: date and signature needed.
