13. Overview Literacy Standards In PreK -5 the Literacy Standards are embedded in the Content Standards. In grades 6-12 the Literacy Standards are contained in separate documents. Are divided into 4 clusters. Describe increasingly sophisticated behaviors by grade or grade band. Will be measured in the ELA assessments.

Step 3 Connect to behaviors described in the Literacy Standards Integration of Knowledge & Ideas (Grade 3) #7: Use information gained from illustrations (e.g., maps, photographs) and the words in a text to demonstrate understanding of the text (e.g., where, when, why, and how key events occur).
