 The distance from the sun varies because it is going around the Earth and the Sun so some times it is closer than the earth is and sometimes it is farther.  The average distance is 93,000,000 miles.

 The average temperature for the Moon during the day is about 225 degrees F.  The average temperature for the Moon during the night is about -243 degrees F.

 The Moon takes around 27.3 days to complete one full orbit around the Earth.  The Moon takes around 27.3 days to complete exactly one full rotation on its axis.

 The Moon has no atmosphere.

 The Moon’s Gravity is 1.622 m/s² or 16.7% of the Earth’s gravity.

 The Sea of Tranquility is located in the Moon’s Northern hemisphere. This area is not a actual sea with water. It is just a dark spot on the moon caused by a lower altitude plain that was formed by volcanos a long time ago.

 Craters are formed by meteorites and asteroids flying through space and hitting the Moon’s surface. When they impact they dig in to the surface causing a whole and then dust is sent flying in every direction.

 The Highlands from an Earth view are the light parts of the Moon.  The Highlands from the Moon’s view are really high in altitude.  The Maria from an Earth view are the dark parts of the Moon.  The Maria from the Moon’s view are really low in altitude.

 The Moon is composed of rock and soil.  The Moon’s soil contains 42% Oxygen, 21% silicone, 13% Iron, 8% Calcium, 7% Aluminum, 6% Magnesium, 3% other elements.

 Scientist believe that when the Earth was forming a gigantic asteroid came and struck the Earth knocking pieces of. Gravity then grabbed those pieces and attached them back to Earth, but not all the pieces. Those pieces left out there gathered and formed the Moon.

 Space Suit  Air Tank  Land Rover  Food  Water  Camera  Magnifying glass  Sun glasses  Jet Pack Essentials Optional

The Moon’s gravity is 1/6 of Earth’s so you can jump 6 times higher on the Moon than on Earth. The Moon is the largest natural satellite in the solar system. The Moon is the only natural satellite in the Earth’s orbit From Earth you only see one side of the Moon because of its rotation and its obit.
