Physical and Chemical Changes

Physical change Is a change in size, shape, or state of matter that does not create a new kind of matter. Grinding, melting, dissolving, and evaporating are all examples of physical change.

Examples of physical changes:
Ice melting to the heat Crushing paper with force.

Chemical change Is a change in matter that produces new kinds of matter with different properties. Decomposing, burning, and rusting are all examples of chemical change.

Examples of chemical changes:
Diet soda with mentos. Burning paper with fire.
