The specification S4000M is designed to cover the activities of a Scheduled Maintenance Analysis (SMA) process Scheduled Maintenance Analysis (SMA) process. in 2006. The concept of this specification was originated in 2006. 24.06.2009 Publication of S4000M, Issue 0.1, in Brussels 24.06.2009 Publication of S4000M, Issue 0.1, in Brussels (together with ASD/AIA S3000L) 2010Commenting phase and harmonization with international organizations (e.g. ATA, MSG-3 group) 12/2010End of incorporation of comments (ca. 50-60 extended technical comments) 01/2011End of editorial finalization of issue 1.0 ??/2011Publication of issue 1.0 (depends on ATA/MSG-3 related constraints) OPM 2012Issue 1.1 with new chapter OPM (Optimization of Preventive Maintenance during in-service) ASD S4000M ASD S4000M Scheduled Maintenance Analysis

The specification S4000M is designed to cover the activities of a Scheduled Maintenance Analysis (SMA) process Scheduled Maintenance Analysis (SMA) process. Specification is devided in 3 main chapters plus one chapter in preparation: System and powerplant analysis Structure analysis Zonal analysis Optimization of Preventive Maintenance (OPM) - new ASD S4000M ASD S4000M Scheduled Maintenance Analysis - Content

FC = Failure Cause EFC = External Failure Cause Safety S4000M, MSG-3 and RCM new in S4000M ! Ecology and law new in S4000M ! Mission and operation S4000M, MSG-3 and RCM Economy S4000M, MSG-3 and RCM MSG-2 (civil), RCM (military) Bottom up Bottom up investigation of failure causes ASD S4000M MSG-3 (zivil) Top Down Top Down investigation of failure effects and validation of failure Advantage: also external failure causes are considered failure effects next higher effects end effects The considered failures can be relevant for: relevant for certification relevant for qualification (acceptance) ASD S4000M ASD S4000M Identification of critical failures / failure causes of a system

Chapter II System and Powerplant Analysis Chapter III Structure Analysis Chapter IV Zonal Analysis Chapter I Introduction Chapter V Definitions and abbreviations ZonesRemark: MSG-3RCM MSG-3 and RCM analysis show gaps concerning Structure and Zonal Analysis. PPH often specific rules and extensions must be implemented for projects (e.g. by a Project Procedure Handbook - PPH for A380 at Airbus) ASD S4000M ASD S4000M Structure of S4000M chapters

OPM process basic information for OPM activities Operational data Maintenance concept Documentation of original results of SMA as LSA tasks with interval, MTA und packaging of the tasks Adjustment of Scheduled Maintenance because of OPM results ! IMPORTANT ! complete view In the LSA database, the complete view on scheduled maintenance is documented: Single tasks with original interval / packaging / OPM adjustment Single tasks with original interval / packaging / OPM adjustment (traceability to original task is guaranteed by complete documentation within LSA database) OPM process will be integrated into S4000M as an own chapter (in the next issue).
