Together they studied radioactivity. (a term coined by Marie).

(www.nobelprize.org)www.nobelprize.org Marie and Pierre discovered two new elements: Polonium and Radium. Polonium was named after Marie’s country of birth. (Poland.) They were awarded a Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
