3.  On August 7- 9, Typhoon Morakot brought the worst flooding in 50 years.

4.  This typhoon hit Taiwan seriously in the south and east.  Because the storm brought heavy rain, southern Taiwan experienced over 2,500 mm of rain.

5.  The storm left more than 600 people dead or missing, and large flooding washed away bridges and roads, and covered many homes.  The roads and bridges were flooded and blocked by landslides and fallen trees.

6.  Some villages were buried and barrier lakes were also formed.

7.  Agricultural and fishing losses were great.  The military and many volunteers were needed to help with cleanup.  Some music festivals were held for fundraising.

8.  We hope all friends can help.  After tomorrow there will be many things to do!
