Instructional Plan Template | Slide 3 Needs Assessment 1.Opportunity will allow students and organizations to reflect on the recognize the needs and values of those with disabilities providing accessible customer service. 2.There is no course available 3.Training to teach learners how to be aware, respectful, and the knowledge comply with disability regulations. 4.Basic customer service training is provided but none pertaining to customers with disabilities and special needs 5.Incorporate the course Legal and Ethical Issues in Disabilities into the college degree plan

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 5 Performance-Based Objectives New employee The learner will demonstrate effective universal customer service There will be a series of four exams and the learners will do role play as the final exam The learner will need to score an 75% on all exams and be able to demonstrate how they will implement the knowledge they have learned for their final

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 7 Learner Characteristics The college course for Legal and Ethical Issues in Disabilities with 10 men and 10 women ages 21-40. The classroom is a diverse setting with African Americans, Caucasians, Native Americans, and Hispanics. Test scores for the class range from 10% below average and 30% above average in true/false, multiple choice, and essay. Majority of the students are kinesthetic learners. No prerequisites skills/training Instructor will provide hands-on activities and collaborative learning as it relates to the course for student success

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 8 This section includes the following: Classroom based setting two days a week along with field experience 1 day a week The application setting will be split up between classroom and field experience. The classroom will be equipped with learning materials. Tests will be taken in the classroom as well as some group assignments. Role play and some collaborative learning will take place in the field experience and will be evaluated by the instructor Classroom instruction, discussions, and activities will be related to real world situations where learners will need to provide accessible customer service based on ones disability Learning Context

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 9 Delivery Modality The best method of delivery for this course is through an instructor led course with an option of taking the same course online. Assignments would be displayed on the syllabus and distributed to all students in the classroom or online Teaching opportunities are done through both classroom and web forum depending on the chosen option

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 10 Instructional Strategies This instructional led course will provide training in teaching the student the ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all customers regardless of their age, ability, disability or size This course will use the following instructional strategies Cooperative learning Role Play Critical thinking The use of group discussion and role play based on learning modules used to identify and deal efficiently with different disabilities with be the primary learning strategies

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 11 Plan for Implementation This course will be a 6 week course each week will consist of 2 classroom session of 1 hour each per week and 1 day of field experience per week to be carried out on the job. Time schedule for disability training modules Week 1-Disability Awareness Week 2-communicating with and about people with disabilities Week 3-Interacting with people with disabilities Week 4-conducting usability testing Week 5-American with Disabilities ACT Week 6-Accomodations/rights and responsibilities Individuals to be involved Instructor Students Tech Support

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 15 This course will be evaluation through student surveys and instructor evaluations as well as analyzing assignment results. Students will be evaluated based on their growth and development towards effectively applying course instruction towards real life situations pertaining to those with disabilities. Use qualitative data of student completion to measure areas of improvement. Evaluation Strategies

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 16 Outcome Review A rubric will be designed to make certain that design goals, performance-based objectives, and learning outcomes are achieved. A grading scale will be used to see if students have successfully mastered the performance-based objectives and learning outcomes.

Instructional Plan Template | Slide 17 Recommendations Add or delete course modules as necessary to meet the needs of community disabilities. Incorporate more problem based activities Increase instructor/student substantial feedback in group discussions in the classroom and online Add a satellite course
