LEARNING OBJECTIVES: MUST: UNDERSTAND HOW MASKS ARE USED IN A VARIETY OF CULTURES AND COUNTRIES. SHOULD: DEMONSTRATE AN ABILITY TO CONTROL AND USE WATERCOLOUR PAINTS EFFECTIVELY TO PRODUCE VIBRANT COLOURS. COULD: SHOW AN ADVANCED UNDERSTANDING THROUGH BLENDING AND USE OF TONE.

Dottore Peste (Plague Doctor) The plague doctor's costume was the clothing worn by a plague doctor to protect him from airborne diseases. The costume consisted of an ankle length overcoat and a bird-like beak mask, along with gloves, boots, a brim hat and an outer over- clothing garment.plague doctor

Homework: Choose a film that you know of that uses ‘prosthetics’. Draw a picture of your chosen mask and put detail and colour into it using tonal shading and blending skills. Include a small print out of your film mask.

Homework: To use tonal shading, blending & mark- making to complete your title page.
