3. Hello and welcome to Discovery time! This month will be fun filled and full of new experiences for all. As we start our school year off we will be learning daily routines, expectations in the classroom, and having fun! Our themes that will be covered will be all about me, my neighborhood, and community helpers. If you need to contact me at any time please feel free to do so. 4. Hard to believe October is already here! This month we will continue to practice daily routines and expectations. We will start talking/learning about one number/shape per week! This week will start with the number one! Our themes for the month are Fire Safety, Making Friends, and Halloween. The students have been doing great in class and have started to make friends! I hope they are telling you they love school as much as they show it here. The children will get the opportunity to see a Fire Truck and gear on October 9 th, along with celebrating two friends birthdays (in the PM Class). HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALICE & MIAH! 5. Happy NOVEMBER! Wow how time flies when you are having fun. This month we will be learning about Weather, My Five Senses, Thanksgiving, and Seasons. We will also continue on with our numbers and shapes! We are up to numbers: 3 & 4, and shapes: square & triangle. The students have been working hard as we begin assessing for Mid-Year Conferences. Just a reminder of the date change/addition of November 30 th. Also please send a folder with to school so they can keep their work samples in a safe place. 6. Welcome back to class! I would like to start off by saying thank you for making Parent/Teacher Conferences a success. Please remember to send back the pink evaluation sheet in your child’s backpack if you have not done so already. We are back working hard in school! The kids are doing great and I can tell that you have been working at home with them! In these short two weeks we have together before Christmas we will be learning about Seasons and Holidays. 7. Welcome back! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Yea! I want to start off first by saying THANK YOU! You are all such amazing parents and I am so blessed to have your children in my class. I can tell and see that you have all been working hard with your children and I was extremely happy when I saw the growth the children had made over the Christmas break. You have no idea how important it is to have reinforcement at home for the things they learn in school! That being said, we will spend the month talking about Zoo Animals and Farm Animals, meeting Ricky Rectangle, talking about the number 5 and reviewing Circe, Square, Triangle, Rectangle, and numbers 1-5. Happy Birthday to Mayanna (PM), and Rylan (AM)! They will be celebrating birthdays this month. We are planning a fieldtrip to Mankato Children’s Museum on February 12 th.
