Average Points per Game 19.2 PPG (11/27/07) after 14 games It’s as if he scored 19.2 points in each of the 14 games The average takes the sum of all points scored (269) and distributes them evenly into each game “bin” If he scored 19.2 points each game for 14 games, he would have scored a total of 269 points BACK

Average Speed Average speed of 9.5 m/s It’s as if the runner ran at a constant speed of 9.5 m/s for entire race Different use of ‘average’ due to covarying quantities But, there is a “leveling” of speeds similar to points or temperatures BACK
