3. The chainsaw industry in Liberia envisage to legally oversee and supervise all chainsaw logging activities to make sure that all legal rules are applied and domestic is sufficiently supplied at all times.

4. The industry was being operated by individual conception and experience thereby leaving the government with no alternative but categorized its actions as illegal and threatened to be band.

5. The dream of the industry has successfully passed, the government through the forestry development after along negotiation realized the need to regulate chainsaw logging to be considered legal in Liberia for its rewarding contributions to infrastructural development as well as support to national economy.

6. Obey All Rules: The industry is keen on observing and implementing all rules governing the forestry sector in Liberia and subject to all VPA legislation for perpetual life status of the sector.

7. After the endorsement of the regulation in March 2012, chainsaw logging remains the obligations of the union’s leadership to perform the duty of the FDA in negotiating and finding suitable working conditions for its members something that is the responsibility of the FDA according to the regulation.

8.  While the FDA is preparing to effect the regulation, chainsaw logging is carried out sustainably form knowledge acquired by operators through capacity building projects funded by RRI in 2010 and EU in 2012 on sustainable and protective harvest practices. Chainsaw logging remains paramount in Liberia to support domestic market in the absence of larger saw mill.
