WELCOME (^:P Welcome to my action packed e-portfolio to Engineering Design! Alexander A+ Stem Student “The walls between art and engineering exist only in our minds.” -Theo Jansen “Successful engineering is all about understanding how things break or fail.” -Henry Petroski about me and IED Table of Contents curriculum work

I was born and raised on Long Island. I grew up in Lynbrook and attended school in the Malverne School District. I've always had a certain fascination towards career paths in Engineering and the Sciences which is why I chose to apply for the Doshi STEM Institute to pursue my dreams. This PLTW course develops student problem- solving skills using a design development process. Models of product solutions are created, analyzed, and communicated using solid modeling computer software. IED is an exciting entry-level engineering design course, which encourages hands on participation in exploring various forms of communication. We will learn design fundamentals and problem solving skills in individual and group settings. we will create a portfolio including sketches, renderings, and 3D CAD models. Inventor software is used for visualizing 3D CAD models. This course strongly recommended for students exploring design, engineering, architecture, technical, construction, manufacturing, and graphic design careers. About IEDAbout Me

SKETCHING WARM-UP In this assignment we learned the basis of sketching figures and shapes. we had to mirror the drawings as shown on the worksheet in our notebook. I can use improvement on my straight lines, my curves, and my dimensional shading.
5
"WHAT IS THIS" In this assignment we were giving a picture and had to answer questions based on what we thought it was. we learned how to use our imagination and create an elevator pitch off of it. I feel like this was one of my stronger projects and there is little I can improve on.
6
DESIGN INNOVATION in this assignment we had to research and document facts of an invention. I learned all about kevlar and its patents. I could improve on my conclusion questions as I felt they were lacking in depth.
7
ISOMETRIC SKETCHING in this assignment we replicates figures and drew them on isometric paper and the pasted it in our ENG NB. I learned how to draw figures in an isometric view point. I can use improvement on by straight lines and shading.
8
GLASS BOX in this assignment we placed a 3D figure in a transparent cube and traced the figure, we then created an isometric, cabinet, and cavalier view of that object. I learned how to create cavalier and cabinet views of a 3D object. I can use improvement on my cavalier view as it isn't my strong suit.
9
INSTANT CHALLENGE in this project we were given a limited materials and had to create a cleaning device out of them. I learned how to use my imagination and creativity to solve everyday problems. I can use work on replicated my design into my ENG NB.
10
US AND METRIC MEASURMENTS in this assignment we learned all about the two measuring systems in the world. I learned what units in both systems are equal too. I can use improvements on remembering what some units are precisely equal too.
11
UNIT CONVERSIONS in this project we were taught all about converting units. we learned how to take one amount of a unit and find its equal amount in another unit. I can use improvement in going from US to Metric as I find it harder to do.
