1 Unit 4, Lesson 2 Focal point: We will learn about the weapons and technology that changed warfare. Do Now: If you were in charge of military spending, how would you use the money given to you to develop weapons and technology?

4 Planes were used for the first time. First they were used to deliver bombs and spying. As the war progressed, fighter aircrafts were armed with machine guns and bombs. Fights between two planes in the sky became known as ‘dogfights’ p Planes brought a new dimension to warfare – AERIAL ATTACKS. Soldiers on the ground had to worry about being bombed from above. Machine guns attempted to neutralize aerial attacks.
