2. What is an online service? An online service is a service that can be provided via the internet. Some examples of online services are, Google and Ebay and things like that. Also there are a few categories for online services these are, entertainment. Communication, Government, Education and Business.

3. Communication. On A bunch of websites and online based websites you can communicate with friends and family for free, Examples are Apple Facetime and Apples own Imessage Also skype. The benefits of these are that you can contact people around the whole world completely free, and you are able to see their own face or more than one persons face speak for itself.

4. Entertainment. Some websites are set up to entertain users and to keep them interested and happy. For example BBC Iplayer and Lovefilm. The Benefits of these are that you can catch up on TV channels that you have missed with just a few clicks for free!

5. Real-time Information. Real time Information is basically how it sounds, because they are sites on the internet that give you information about the world and how the weather and traffic is doing around your location. For example the AA service and the Met Office.

6. Commerce. Some websites are set out for people to use to buy and sell things Eg. Ebay and amazon. Buying and selling things is usually a lot quicker and sometimes even cheaper

7. Government. Sometimes websites are set up to provide ‘Government associated things’. EG. Theyworkforyou.com

8. Download services. These are for downloading things like songs, pictures, games or anything like that. They can sometimes be Free or actually quite pricey. EG ITunes YouTube converter.

9. Education These are used for learning, they can range from Key Stage 2 maths to ‘A’ level Biology, these sights are MyMaths, BBC bitesize and many others, the benefit of them is that if you need extra help at school or you are a bit behind at school. Then you can simply go on the internet for extra learning.

10. Virtual Learning Environment These tie in with online Education services but the only difference is that they have a wider range of subjects for example Moodle

11. Business These are the real money makers they consist of Banking, fast food services and online shops. EG. NatWest Mama Mias, Hollister. The benefit of them is that you can buy food clothes and sort your banks out with just a flick of a switch and a click of a mouse.
