US CELLULAR INFLUENCER PROGRAM

BLOG POST REQUIREMENTS Did you know that millions of Americans have never left their home state? It might seem extreme, but it’s true. Not everyone has had the opportunity to explore this great, big country of ours. U.S. Cellular is launching “Big Country”, a series that will seek out every day Americans who for one reason or another have never gone far from home and take them on a trip of a lifetime! Throughout the five-part series, host Andrew Zimmern will guide these real U.S. Cellular customers who haven’t gone far from home to see the places and people they’ve only dreamed of seeing. U.S. Cellular will be a catalyst in helping to make its customers’ travel dreams a reality, allowing them to explore the Middle of Anywhere – great cities across the nation – and enabling them to stay connected to their family and friends back home through its nationwide coverage and technology. Please visit to apply for the opportunity to find yourself in the middle of anywhere with national coverage from U.S. Cellular and TV host Andrew Zimmern on the show Big Country.

ADDITIONAL TALKING POINTS Where possible, U.S. Cellular should be mentioned. We are not looking for the bloggers to sell U.S. Cellular or make claims about its service, but rather highlight its role in this content series. Examples of these references could include: Mentioning that U.S. Cellular created this original series with Ulive/Food Network/Travel Channel, e.g.: Big Country is presented by U.S. Cellular. Be sure to tune in to watch the latest episode of Big Country on The Travel Channel and Food Network, and online at Discussing how U.S. Cellular wanted to provide this unique opportunity to its customers to travel meaningfully for the first time, e.g.: U.S. Cellular, Travel Channel and Food Network are empowering those who have not had the opportunity to meaningfully travel to finally visit the places and destinations they’ve always dreamed of seeing. Mention how U.S. Cellular keeps its customers connected to family and friends as they travel across the country to the various destinations featured in each episode, e.g.: Backed by U.S. Cellular’s national coverage, these lucky customers will set out on trips of a lifetimes across the country with the help of TV personality Andrew Zimmern on the show Big Country. As these lucky customers experience amazing sights and tastes on their trips around the country, U.S. Cellular’s nationwide coverage enables them to stay connected to their friends and family back home from the middle of anywhere. Reacting positively to any brand mentions in the content series itself (i.e. reaction to service working in an unexpected location) or to something they learned about the brand

QUESTION FOR THE READERS When traveling, how do you use your smartphone to stay connected with loved ones?

GOALS OF THE BRAND 1.Drive awareness of “Big Country” presented by U.S. Cellular 2.Inform viewers that U.S. Cellular has created this content series by partnering with Food Network and Travel Channel, also bringing on Andrew Zimmern as host 3.Inform viewers naturally that U.S. Cellular offers nationwide coverage, and through this series is empowering its customers to stay connected no matter where they travel, from coast to coast to the Middle of Anywhere.

DO’S and DON’TS DON’T… Please avoid content that would disparage or suggest avoiding places or areas in their travels, and stay away from travel “horror-stories.” Avoid any language that disparages the U.S. Cellular brand, service, or products in any way. Avoid product claims that you don’t know to be true, i.e. saying that U.S. Cellular works literally everywhere, that you are able to sign up for U.S. Cellular service in areas outside of the company’s 23 specialty markets, etc. Don’t mention competitive brands like… Major cellular service providers including AT&T, Verizon, T- Mobile, and Sprint Don’t use #sweeps, #contest, or similar, as this is an open casting call, not a giveaway. DO… Please keep brand mentions focused on the brand’s role in bringing forth this content series and reacting to what happens in each episode, or to copy points specified in the one-sheeter and in this brief If the blogger is actually a U.S. Cellular customer he/she can comment positively about her own experience with the company.

ABOUT THE BRAND U.S. Cellular started some 30 years ago with a unique mission: provide wireless access to parts of the country often overlooked by other carriers. Today, U.S. Cellular is the national wireless provider that specializes in these “smaller” cities and rural communities. U.S. Cellular is the brand whose coverage works from coast to coast, to the middle of anywhere – where people live, work, and play– empowering and enabling people to get more out of life. U.S. Cellular is committed to keeping their customers connected no matter where they go, but a lot of people think of U.S. Cellular as a carrier that only works in some places. We want to surprise people with U.S. Cellular’s national coverage and all the places that we can take them.
