1. STARS AND CONSTELLATIONS

2. One day Isabelle was looking through her telescope she wanted to see the other planets in the solar system but all she could see were stars.

3. Then her brother came to see what she was doing and she told him that she couldn’t see the other planets all she can see is stars. That’s when Tomas told her that the stars are actually planets. But they are so far away that they actually look like stars but if she looked closely and focused her lens she could see the planets.

4. Isabelle started looking closely and all of a sudden she saw a shooting star. Isabelle started looking closely and all of a sudden she saw a shooting star.

5. Then Isabelle started looking more closely and she saw a constellation of stars her brother Tomas told her it was the big dipper.

6. Isabelle now kept seeing different constellations and her brother would tell her the names of each one he knew.

8. That night when Isabelle went to sleep all she could think about were the stars. She couldn’t wait until tomorrow night to look at the stars again.

9. Writing Activity Have the students pick a constellation and write about how that constellation became discovered and by who. Have them research the contellation
