4. The Mystery Why were all these warriors created? Why were they buried?
Who created all the clay soldiers and how long did it take them?

5. The Facts
In 1974, some farmers were trying to dig for water by Xi’an (shian), China. Instead of water, they found a clay soldier.
Archaeologists came to the site and uncovered more clay warriors. They found more warriors and even clay horses!
Archaeologists found some figures painted in green, blue, purple, red, orange, and yellow.
Some warriors even had real weapons with them!
ALL of the warriors were broken when they were found

6. The Facts
After uncovering all 7,500 clay warriors, horses, and chariots, archaeologists found that no 2 statues were the same!
The figures are about 2,200 years old! This means they were created during the time of the first Emperor, Qin Shihuang (chin shir-hwong) who lived from 259 – 210 B.C.
Qin was also known for constructing the Great Wall of China
All the warriors are facing east.
