Carbon Footprint Reduction By: Mary Kate Wilding

What is a Carbon footprint? A measure of the amount of carbon dioxide produced by a person, organization or state in a given time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m 7JlaHeZnP0&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m 7JlaHeZnP0&feature=related

How can I reduce my Carbon footprint? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpiIWMWWVco

Shorten your shower The average shower lasts about 8 minutes. If you cut your shower by 2 minutes, you could cut 340 lbs of CO2 emissions each year.

Change your light bulbs Chang your light bulbs from incandescent to a Fluorescents. Changing bulbs could cut about 50 lbs of carbon emissions each year. CFL’s last much longer than incandescent.

Eat Less Red Meat If you get 30% of your calories from meat, dairy, and poultry, your diet contributes 3,000lbs of CO2 to the atmosphere each year. You don’t have to stop eating meat, but if you reduce your consumption of red meat, you’ll reduce you’re annual carbon footprint.

Recycle If the average household recycled all it’s paper, plastic, and glass, they would cut 1,000 lbs of CO2 emissions each year.
