Weebly is an online, free, Web site creator. It uses a widget style format, allowing users to create pages with only a few clicks by dragging and dropping different page elements (images, text, or interactive content, etc.) onto a page and filling in the content. It was named by Time Magazine as number four of the fifty best websites of 2007. Weebly Assignment: Students will use the web site creator Weebly to develop a segway, structure, and navigation for their professional electronic portfolio. This web site will be used throughout the semester as a way to store, display, and share the projects created in MSTI 131. As time progresses, this website will be your personal showcase for your work completed at St. John Fisher and your dedication as a professional to educating with technology. 1.Go to www.weebly.com and you will need to create a username, password, and email. 2 Weebly Grading Rubric MSTI 131 – Fall 2010 5310 Layout / Design The pages are well organized with tables. Text spacing and alignment make reading easy. The backgrounds enhance the page. The pages are eye- catching and attractive. Text is easy to read. The backgrounds are subtle and appropriate. The pages appear "busy" or "boring". Text may be difficult to read. The backgrounds are somewhat distracting. The pages are unattractive. Text is difficult to read. The backgrounds are distracting. Graphics Photos, icons, and clip art are used creatively and may follow a theme. Photos, icons, and clip art are appropriate, of high quality, and download fairly quickly. Photos are blurry or fuzzy; icons and clip art do not "fit" with the topic. Too many pictures make the download time slow. There are no photos, icons or clip art or they are inappropriate or of low quality. Information Information is creatively written and cleverly presented. Information is well written and interesting to read and is presented in short sections. Information could be better written and too much information is given in each section. Information is poorly written, inaccurate, or incomplete. Navigation/ Links Links are created with images and icons to enhance the text links. Links are consistent and easy to find so that the user can easily navigate back and forth through pages. The user may become confused when navigating between pages. Some links may not work. The user may become lost or links may be missing or not working. Internet friendly A really nice webpage. Easy to see, read and focus. Colors are appealing and the text and content drew me in. Nice colors, easily readable text and a clear direction. However, point of focus could have been clearer Colors and text could have be separated better. Found a focus point on the page, but had to scroll down to read it. Colors that were used made it difficult to read. nothing “grabbed” my eye. Name: ________________ Initial Score: ______/5____ Complete Score: ______/10____ Final Score: ______/15____
